A Chinese cloisonné enamel and gilt bronze cover, late Ming/early Qing, 17th century,
decorated in coloured enamels to the exterior and and underside with flower heads scrolling tendrils and leaves on a blue ground, the exterior ormolu band cast and chased with confronting dragons chasing flaming pearls and surmounted by a Buddhist lion finial, the underside with engraved four character mark,
11.5 cm high, 13.5 cm diameter. Provenance - Old Scandinavian collection.

Condition:
The lion-dog finial to the top is slightly loose and has a loss to the end of his tail it’s possible that the cloisonné enamel is pushed in slightly beneath him. Otherwise minor casting imperfections and some tarnish and light wear consistent with age and use. Generally in good condition
