- plain rectangular example with ivory escutcheon, slightly rubbed around the edges, the lid with damaged printed silk panel of a mother and children, contains original green silk needle case, a dented white metal 2cm tall thimble, three assorted mother of pearl spools, carved and pierced ivory tape measure, 2.75cm, silk pin cushion pad fitted in place, pair of steel scissors, part gilt steel needle, white metal and steel tool, ivory page turner, 11cm and a small group of old letter wafers initialled D. width 15.5cm, with original working key, lid slightly lifting out of shape.
- the other casket with gilt embossed brass mounts, a little discoloured with some light wear to gilding, fitted with faded silk pin cushion, red card folding needle case, three silk winders - two mother of pearl, 3cm, the other ivory, 1.75cm, two spools of thread, base metal 2cm thimble and a mother of pearl handled hook, with original key although lock is rather stiff, width 13.5cm height 6.5cm

Do the boxes open and close fully? The larger box closes and locks, the smaller one closes but not flush and doesn't appear to lock.
