An early 18th century walnut chest on stand, with veneered top, two short and three graduated long drawers over three short drawers, on turned legs with serpentine stretcher and bun feet, W.3ft 4.5in. D.1ft 11in. H.5ft

Overall of rich treacley brown tone, the top left drawer slightly darker than the other and the carcass of the base darker than the drawers, top with a broad crack running left to right and other wear commensurate with age, handles and locks are later, with signs of drop handles once having been fitted to the top drawers, stand has seen replacements and adaptions over the years, notably to the support columns and the bun feet.
