The base of the gentleman of the pair has a large chip which has been overpainted, some of the painting and gilding has worn off on his trousers, little and waistcoat, also one of his little fingers missing, the female figure also has wear to the gilding and floral decoration to her dress, her thumb is completely broken and missing
