§ John Minton (1917-1957)
pen and ink on paper
Two studies of a young man seated shirtless and with one arm folded
unsigned
15 x 10.75in. and 14.75 x 10.25in.
Estimate £2,000-3,000

Shirtless image with very slight fading to the ink and definitely some even discolouration to the ground paper, dark damp spot in the top right corner, a fine tear running through the paper to the right of the top left corner almost half way down the image, looks to have been reinforced with cellotape down the left side otherwise paper undulating and slightly creased at the bottom but clearly not stuck down, the other image somewhat flatter and may well be laid down, paper looks discoloured with a slightly lighter coloured band running down the right hand side and across the bottom suggesting it may have slipped in the mount, one or two small dirt spots, housed in similar cloth lined mounts and matching parcel gilt frames, inscribed verso Farley 249 on one of the works.

Provenance; The estate of the artist John Drummond
