A Japanese cherrywood okimono netsuke of a farmer, early 19th century, the figure with gurning expression and black stone inset eyes, holding a bucket in his left hand and wearing a loin cloth with tobacco pouch and pipe tucked into the back, his legs crossed, engraved two character mark with kakihan to the handle of the bucket, 15cm long

He is missing all of the toes on his left foot, there is some wear to the carving all over and around the himatoshi and some occasional small black stains probably ink stains in occasional areas all over.
