An 18th century Sussex oak six plank coffer, W.102, D.33cm, H.58cm

The top has a large possibly burnt patch to the left hand side and there is an 'S' shaped crack in the timber, running horizontally through the top. The front also has a crack lying horizontally through the front panel. To the left side there is a new piece of timber set into the back foot.
Hinges are later, three interior "butterfly" repairs
