A pair of Venetian and painted giltwood grotto stools, with scallop and acanthus seats on dolphin stems and faux marble plinths, W.1ft 6in. D.1ft 2in. H.1ft 7in.

Thought to date to the early 20th century, gilding looks original but is worn in places showing a reddish finish beneath, one small crack through the scallop rim edge of one stool, minor chipping around the acanthus leaves to the seats and further minor scuffing and chipping around the plinths, both plinths have a crack running in beneath the dolphins mouths.
