A late 19th century French ormolu mounted Sevres style porcelain cassolette, painted with panels of 18th century lovers and a river landscape and flanked by satire masks, height 12.5in.

Ormolu now with a matted dull gold finish except for the candle sconce which has been mostly stored within the urn and therefore is of the bright original gilt finish, porcelain body in very good clean condition, one small spot of jewelling being turquoise around the base missing, small oxidisation and dirt spots to the ormolu but overall in good untouched condition.
