An early 19th century Dutch marquetry inlaid walnut bombe base bureau, the fall enclosing fitted interior and well, over three graduated long drawers with lion's paw feet, W.3ft 10in. D.2ft H.3ft 8in.

Overall of a rather dark walnut tone, a little lighter on the fall, numerous small surface scuff, scratches and minor dents commensurate with age, a split running from to back top right corner, patched replacements and losses top left corner, both corners of the fall with repair patches to the veneers, fall equally somewhat faded with a horizontal split running in from the right side and further splitting running up the right side, drawer fronts dark with some fine horizontal splitting to the lower drawers, locks look original but no key present, side angles bleached on the left side, both with denting, chipping and losses to edges of veneer, further typical wear denting to the base and feet, interior of even reddish colour, fair wear and tear but overall good, no key to the central door which looks to have a later brass knob handle as does the lid of the well.
