An early 19th century Chinese red stained and natural ivory 'rosette' type chess set, modelled as English and Mongolian figures, the white as George III, kings 3.25in.

Unstained, king broken through ankles and glued. Knights no longer have their weapons, castles have lost their flags. All pawns have lost their weapons. Red stained - king stands on what looks to be an associated unstained stand which is not intact. King also has lost a staff and has a chip to the head. One bishop has a replacement unstained stand and damage to the pillar. One knight with damage and repair to arm, both castles have lost their flags, one has chipping around the castellations. One pawn with most of rifle missing and repair to pillar, another with repair to neck, another with small chip to base of pillar and the fourth broken off at the ankles.
