Fred Baier was commissioned to design furniture for Raymond McGrath's 1934 modernist house, St Anne's Court, where a very similar cabinet can be seen. A graduate of the Royal College of Art his works are in numerous international collections including the Victoria & Albert in London, The Arts Council, London, Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery and the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh W.5ft 3in D.1ft 11in. H.3ft 3in.

Possibly very slightly faded but overall looks to be in good original condition.
