Lot 125 , Arthur E. Pearce and John Huskinson for Doulton Lambeth, an incised foliate oil lamp, dated 1879, height 33.5cm to brass burner excludi
Arthur E. Pearce and John Huskinson for Doulton Lambeth, an incised foliate oil lamp, dated 1879, with brass mounted bands, impressed mark and incised marks with assistants marks 'RB', height 33.5cm to brass burner excluding glass shade and chimney
Estimate £150-200
The stoneware parts of the oil lamp have typical minor glaze imperfections. The sections were taken apart to find the impressed marks and incised artist's marks and no restoration, chips or cracks were detected. The brass is a little tarnished and there is some brasso residue in places. We cannot guarantee the duplex burner is working but the action does work correctly. Complete with etched globe shade (which has some minor splinter chips around the bottom collar) and a chimney.
