Bucknell of London. A Regency brass inset mahogany hour repeating bracket clock, with painted Roman dial and twin fusee movement striking on a bell, H.22in.

Overall this clock looks to be in fair to good condition, case is a good rich mid mahogany tone in fair state of polish, acorn finial is now oxidised to a dull a bronze tone, tops of each side where the brass arched stringing ends each look to have had small repairs with some sort of brown glue like material used to fill in where perhaps before they may have been a little brass, horizontal short splits running left of the dial near 9 and 8 where there is a further replaced section down the left handside approx 1 inch artificially painted to look like brass inlay, on the opposing there is equally a little bit of brass missing and a shorter split near the hinge, further tiny splits left and right lower down, one inlaid flower is missing from the lower right front, feet a little oxidised, left and right side brass work oxidised but perfect, red fabric has been replaced relatively recently, dial looks a little dirty, has a number of small scratches and perhaps one or two small infilled repairs, brass bezel is oxidised, fits and holds in place but lacks the key as does the back door, back door with a small repair near the key hole, movement looks in good original condition, going but not tested for timekeeping, purchased in these rooms in March 2002 Lot 1241.
