A good Victorian Renaissance revival gold and silver, white opal, green enamel, pearl diamond and garnet set drop pendant brooch, of oval form, the central opal of good colour and bordered by diamonds, flanked by two mermaids, with heart shaped opal drop below, 62mm.

There is damage/loss to the green enamel on both of the bodies of the mermaids. There is also damage/loss to the green enamel on the bale. Three of the small diamonds each have a tiny chip to the table facet. There are a few tiny chips and scratches to the surface of the large opal and there are visible internal flaws and cracks to the large opal also. A couple of the green stones may have been replaced with emeralds?? and one of the pearl may have been replaced.
