Lot 768 , A 1970s textured silver gilt surprise egg by Stuart Devlin, no. 256, 7.8cm.
A 1970's textured silver gilt surprise egg by Stuart Devlin, no. 256, opening to reveal two enamelled butterflies, one en trembleuse, London, 1975, 7.8cm.
Estimate £200-300
The egg is heavily tarnished so original gilding isn't really visible, so it is possible that some of the gilding may have worn away. One of the orange coloured enamel wings has several small hairline cracks. Overall condition is otherwise good. Hallmarks clear.
