A set of five 16th century Flemish relief carved oak panels, depicting the parable of the Prodigal Son, largest 8.25 x 27in.

All of the panels are faded or bleached down to a pale tone.
Panel slaughtering cow suffered a number of losses, horn to the cow on the left, leg to the main slaughtered cow has a crudely replaced leg, otherwise there are other smaller losses. Please study our photographs, such as the hands on the figure on the right and other more minor chipping here and there. Holes and nicks around edges of the panel, one small inset between inset between the two left hand figures, possibly a reinforcement panel applied to the back.
Panel with figures at a table, similarly various minor losses, cup in the hand of the central figure is a later replacement but overall fair order, similarly worm holes and minor losses around the edges, a reinforcement panel applied to the back, the gap between the central woman and serving girl is the replacement panel rather than from the main carved relief.
Image with money lender has at a table - minor rubbing and losses scattered throughout, small inset into the burr to the right of the central figure, otherwise nicks and holes around the edges of the panel and a reinforcement plaque to the back.
Swineherds - again minor losses but overall looks fairly good, reinforcement panel to the back fills the void between the house and the right hand figure and can furthermore be seen just to the right of the right hand figure.
Final panel - drunkard - cup and hand of the lady on the left is a replacement, hand of the lady on the right is a replacement. Otherwise scattered wormholes and other minor losses, no reinforcement panel to the back. Overall given their age, these are in very good condition.
