Compare a pair of similar miniature paintings on ivory sold by Christie's, South Kensington, Travel & Natural History Books sale, 30 May 2002 Lot 60.
Both of the miniatures are in good condition with no apparent warping or wear to the ivory panels, they have been later framed and glazed with an old label to the back with incorrect identification of the views, it does mean that we are unable to examine the very edge of the ivory panels, no damage or restoration detected.
