A mid 17th century jointed oak Wainscot elbow chair, with lozenge and roundel carved back panel, planked seat and turned front legs, W.1ft 9.5in. H.3ft.

Overall of even rich mid to dark brown tone with a fair state of polish, slightly lighter at the top of the back and top of the arms where hands have rubbed against them, solid seat has some old cracks and three joints showing running from left to right, a vertical section of timber is missing on the right hand side where the upright meets the front of the seat rail, signs of old repairs to the back upright stile just below where it joins the seat rail and slightly higher up where the arm is attached, feet look reduced in height.
