The exterior of the bell has been later polished, some of the definition to the casting has been worn off where it has been polished, there is casting imperfections to the bell particularly some pitting to the interior only visible on the interior and there is a couple of inset patches which are visible on the exterior plus one patch now missing, a rectangular one and a circular one, the wood stand is later and has been specially designed for the weight of the bell and has a reinforced brass mount underneath the crest to support the extra weight, has possibly been broken and re-glued through on each side, possible the joints have come apart on the lower part of the stand and been re-glued.
