An early 19th century English brass Culpepper-type microscope, the mahogany base with single drawer fitted with assorted instruments, accessories and slides, housed in the original mahogany pyramid case, height 14in.; case height 17.5in.

Case - white paint on the tip of the finial which looks re-glued, two splits to either side of the finial, front door with some light surface scuffing, other scuffing elsewhere on the sides of the case, back of the case is not stained or polished, hairline crack running from the keyhole
Instrument - rubbing and wear commensurate with age to the lacquering and brass work, no signature or inscription, silvering to the mirror starting to flake, box base looks like it has come apart at the joints and been glued back together, base drawer has five bone four glass slides, various accessories including a working key for the case lock.
