Estimate £2,000-3,000
Top loop handle is probably a later replacement as the circular roundel feet extend over the width of the top panel, some old separation in the joints of the case, but overall looks to be in original untouched condition of a good rich colour, various small dents and scuffs throughout the case, notably two small circular patches on the very top and a small section of moulding broken away at the top left corner, some cracks in the veneer around the top of the edge of the case, front door slightly out of alignment making it a little difficult to open, a small section repaired by the escutcheon. No key for the front lock which looks to be a later replacement. Dial is in good condition, signed Gillespy Dublin, some scuffing and oxidisation to the chapter ring which looks to have been redone at some point, there is an aperture for a false pendulum but no sign of it, back door with some scuffing and wear to the left side where it may have been forced at some point, escutcheon area looks to have been replaced, lock looks original but not corresponding plate fixed to the main body of the clock, movement sits on two old wooden box, movement looks complete but not tested for timekeeping, no key to the back door lock, comes with an apparently associated old case key and two associated winding keys.
