Oil on canvas wax lined 30 - 40 years ago, canvas remains tight, paint very dirty and would benefit from a good clean, with a fine but stable craquelure throughout, signs of damage having occured through his face, various inscriptions and old letters applied verso, see our photographs, housed in a period brown painted frame with some old restorations. Extensive old cuttings verso identifying the sitter.
