A pair of Italian majolica polychrome rectangular plaques, 18th/19th century, each decorated with figures in bucolic landscapes, 16 x 21cm excl. gilt frames

Both of the majolica plaques are housed in giltwood frames so we are unable to examine the edges for chips or other damage, one of the plaques has been broken and repaired in at least four sections to one side of the figure of the lady holding an infant, the other plaque appears to be in good condition with typical glaze and firing imperfections, one of the frames has some old worm damage which has been treated.
