A Regency rosewood and brass-mounted campaign davenport W.41cm

A Regency rosewood and brass-mounted campaign davenport W.41cm
Estimate £300-500

There are a number of losses to the stringing around the drawers on the right hand side with also some losses to the veneer on the rear right corner, along the bottom edge, on the top right edge and the bottom left front foot. Two of the rebated brass handles on the false drawers on the left hand side are detached but are present, the lower false drawer on this side has a split across the whole length. Two of the brass caps to the casters are a bit wobbly. The pull out hinge, pen compartment on the top right hand side is missing its handle with a slight splinter to the veneer in the area. The hinged fall has a slight splinter chip to the front right hand corner. There is some slight staining and discolouration to all surfaces. The timber is a bit dry and would benefit from a good waxing, otherwise in reasonable condition, the back panel is a little bowed to the carcase, a lovely feature of this piece there are false drawers and rebated brass handles on all four sides.
