Lot 820 , An early 19th century mahogany 30 hour longcase clock W.50cm
An early 19th century mahogany 30 hour longcase clock W.50cm
Estimate £100-150
This is a 30 hour clock, not an 8 day as described.
Case: Base has a repaired section to bottom of front panel. Lacks base moulding/feet. Some minor cracks, scuffs and wear commensurate with age and use. Larger crack to top right of hood door frame. Cheeks built up, so movement and case may be associated.
Dial: Crazed, dirty, numerals worn and seconds dial entirely lacking.
Movement: 30 hour with false winding holes. The rack does not properly engage, so movement strikes continually.
Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid. All transactions are governed by Gorringes Conditions of Sale.
