A 20th century German two day marine chronometer, Wempe, Hamburg 6313, the two tier case of characteristic form, the 3.5 inch silvered Roman dial with blued steel beetle and poker hands, with subsidiary up and down dial and running seconds, the single chain fusee movement with Earnshaw type detent escapement maintaining power and helical spring to the bi-metallic compensated balance with cylindrical timing weights, height 7.25in.

Case in overall good condition with usual small knocks bumps and abrasions commensurate with age and usage, the brass furniture is dirty and tarnished, the top glass is in tact, the gimbals are tarnished and dirty but function as is the bezel, the sight ring is clean, the dial is in good order, slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean, the hands have been painted black, the minute hand is slightly out of true.
The movement functions, it is quite dirty but retains its hatching on the plates, it will require a clean or an overhaul, the setting up click wheel on the main spring looks a little loose on the arbor, it may possibly be a replacement.
