A WWII Japanese officer's katana, with ray-skin handle and brown leather covered scabbard, the iron tsuba decorated a figural scene with gold, copper and silver inlays, the tang with Arsenal stamp probably for the Seki Arsenal, blade length 70cm

Leather scabbard: Dented, scratched and stained, tip is worn.
Wooden scabbard: Mounts have been removed. Numerous dents, surface scratches and wear.
Sword: Blade is polished but has some scratches, 1/3 of the way along the blade on both sides where it has been gripped, possibly in vice. No major nicks on the edge.
Tsuba has some light nicks. It is worn.
The grip has original binding and tassles. The leather retaining strap is broken. The pommel has some wear and small scratches
