Lot 855 , A Victorian buttoned leather scroll armchair D.90cm H.96cm W.54cm
A Victorian buttoned leather scroll armchair D.90cm H.96cm W.54cm
Estimate £100-150
Good even slightly faded mid reddish brown mahogany tone, frame is strong with no wobbling, signs of old repairs to the frame behind the seat, frame is remarkably heavy, this is probably an Anglo Indian piece and was certainly made in the Colonies rather than in England. Later leather upholstery showing some character wear but essentially good order, looks like this chair was once fitted with castors, holes where they were once attached have now been filled.
