Two Chinese wucai beaker vases, Transitional period, 17th century, each painted to the upper register with an Emperor and court attendants in a garden, the lower part painted with flowers and fruit sprigs, unglazed bases, 35.5cm and 37cm, both necks reduced in height

Both of the vases have been cut down in height at the neck and have a sharp edge at the top, the vase with the more bulbous knop to the centre also has an associated curving hairline crack extending down from the rim across a figure on the top register, there is a slight firing fault under the glaze to the bulbous knop otherwise no other faults detected.
