Lot 463 , A George III mahogany straight front library bookcase, W.5ft6in. D.1ft3in. H.7ft.8in.
A George III mahogany straight front library bookcase, with fluted frieze and two astragal glazed doors over cupboard doors, W.5ft 6in. D.1ft 3in. H.7ft. 8in.
Estimate £150-200
This bookcase was once the centre section of a larger library bookcase. The cornice looks a little cut down with some chipping at the front corners. The upper doors are slightly warped with splits and cracks to the glazing bars and no key for the doors. Base doors have horizontal splits running across and are a little warped. Colour is good but overall this piece requires a fair amount of restoration.
