Anthony Lynch of Newbury. An early 18th century japanned eight day longcase clock, the 12 inch square brass dial signed in the silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, case with chinoiserie landscape decoration, H.6ft 6in.

Overall the case looks to have seen fair wear and tear over the years with rubbing to the decoration and later painted restoration being added, the frieze around the top of the hood with blind fret work looks later, dial certainly been restored at some point but now shows some oxidisation and a smudge near the makers name, two holes showing in the matted centre of the dial near 8 o'clock, with matching plugged holes near 4 o'clock, movement looks complete and was recent running, please see our additional photographs, second damaged at each end, main hands oxidised, box base reduced in height, comes with trunk key, steel and brass winding key, two brass cased weights, and brass cased lead pendulum.
