A Sevres biscuit porcelain bust of French president Patrice de Mac-Mahon, Duc de Magenta, c.1875, modelled by Forgeot, the bust with incised inscription and date 1874, on a cobalt blue glaze and gilt socle with incised and printed marks and date code for 1875, height 35cm

Bisque is very dirty with marking from old stickers having been applied to it and has a crack running up from the right side underneath the bust to below the epaulette, this cracks stars outwards and runs up the front right side of the bust, a further crack runs through the middle of the right epaulette, further cracking running in a similar place to the left hand underside of the bust and again running in a fine crack up and under the epaulette, one short firing crack showing through the figures right eye, further short firing crack in his sash near the left epaulette, and another probable firing crack in the upper part of the left epaulette.
