A Japanese bronze figure of a lady playing a shamisen, 19th century, 37.5cm

A Japanese bronze figure of a lady playing a shamisen, 19th century, standing on a naturalistic base with a cast three character seal mark, 37.5cm
Estimate £120-180

The head of the instrument at the end of the neck has been off and re-attached, probably using a modern adhesive, there are a few small flat areas on the fingers and at the end of the instrument where it has been knocked and the base is slightly wobbly where it is not completely flat, otherwise in good condition with original patination. The repair to the instrument is very clean and only noticeable on close inspection.
