Estimate £1,000-1,500
Provenance: UK Private Collection. The vendor's grandfather formed a large collection of several hundred pieces of Chinese porcelain and works of art in the 1920's. The majority of the pieces were brought mainly from specialist dealers and auctioneers in East Anglia and the South of England; thence by family descent.
There is some occasional scratching to the glaze and some wear to the enamels consistent with age, the iron red enamel in particular shows the most wear - please see photographs and there are two fine hairline cracks which are only visible on the interior of the vase at the shoulder and not visible at all on the exterior, otherwise in good condition with no restoration or chips, the later wood cover has a few nicks around the edge otherwise good.
