A pair of late 19th century Chinese gilt lacquered carved wood panels, decorated with geese and pheasant, signed, 128 x 63cm

Please note the inset panels are 19th century and the stained wood and gilt frames are late 20th century, the first panel with calligraphic inscription upper left has a few minor restorations to the fret work and a split and small chip upper right to the panel, panel has shrunk a little and so there is a slight gap on the edge to the frame, the second panel has a split at the top and has slightly bowed inward, again with some shrinkage where it fits the frame, both have some scuffing and minor losses to the gilt and red decoration
Provenance: purchased from a Hong Kong dealer c.1988.
