A group of Chinese Straits famille rose 'phoenix and peony' bowls and plates, c.1900, comprising eight plates (one cracked), 22cm, eight bowls, 13.5cm, a larger bowl (cracked), 19.5cm and three small plates, 13.5cm (18)

All of the plates have some wear to the gilding on the edge, a few of the plates have a few edge nibbles and two in particular have wear to the enamels particularly the pink of the peony and on the phoenix and one plate has a stained crack through the centre, all of the 8 13.5cm bowls have some wear to the gilding on the edge and some occasional tiny nibbles on the edge, otherwise good. The 3 13.5cm plates - all three have been a bit nibbled around the rim with some wear to the gilding and some associated short hairline cracks, and the larger bowl measuring 19.5cm has a stained crack to the rim and a small firing crack to the rim, some wear to the gilding and the odd tiny nibble to the edge.
