A good locking piece of furniture in honest original condition, top shelf in fine order, glass work all looks original, a little rubbed from polishing over the years, the top of the chiffonier showing fine surface scratching from typical wear and tear and fine cracks running through the crossbanding, a few small dents and slight losses of the thin moulding that runs around the top, the unusual inserted cylinder effect to this frieze has been painted gold on the lower band but not the upper, drawer in good order, with mahogany lining, small section of damage to the lower right corner grill of the right hand door where a thin strip of brass has been replaced, otherwise good, no sign of any key, colour good rich dark rosewood colour, slightly lighter on the scroll pilasters at the front, sides equally in good condition but for the loss of some moulding notably on the left hand side of the back.
