Oil on original canvas which has a very slight outward bulge, looking at the back the central patch of the canvas has been overpainted, this may have been to disguise an original inscription, there is a slight bulge showing at the front so it is possibly some form of reinforcement or repair, otherwise from the front the paint looks rather dirty and would benefit from a clean, signed lower right, under glass in the original ornate gilt gesso frame which has had various repairs and suffers lots of drying out and cracking.
