Oil on canvas cleaned and relined within the past 10 - 20years or so, canvas remains flat and tight, signs of old retouched damage showing throughout notably above his nose, above his head, to the right of the back of his head and below his chin, a fine surface scratch just going into the paint running through his start of the garter, no sign of any signature and now a little dirty and would benefit from a clean, housed in an ornate 19th century gilt gesso frame which has some cracking and minor losses.
measurements are of the work not the frame, frame adds an additional 10in to the existing measurements.
