A gilt metal mounted carved and painted wood ceiling light, modelled as a mermaid, 2ft 6in.

The body of the mermaid is carved from timber, fingers to both hands have been crudely remodelled, trident is almost certainly a replacement, the top is certainly rebuilt from some kind of putty. Arms are a combination of softwood and gilt metal, wiring runs on the outside not through them, later brass hooks and hanging chain attached, one of the scroll supports beneath the light fitting is split in two but still complete, overall a decorative item that needs some cosmetic attention and almost certainly re-wiring.
