Simonn Araus, Wienn. An 18th century Viennese red lacquered minute repeating bracket clock, the arched brass dial with false pendulum, date aperture and repediert / repediert nicht and schlaget nicht / schlaget selectors, movement with verge escapement striking on two bells, 20.5in.

Case in good original condition, red colour to the side is brighter than that to the front with a fair amount of wear to the lacquered decoration and notable wear around the front keyhole, lock to front door is now missing and held in place by a small brass catch, dial in good original condition, hands look original, right hand side has seen some wear and lifting of the lacquer decoration, left hand side has equally seen some small losses and wear around the latch, back of the case equally with a fair amount of wear, back door is a little wobbly on its hinges, lock is missing and a brass catch has been effected in its place, movement complete and going although not tested for timekeeping, repeat works but seems to be out of sync with the hands, overall an interesting and essentially complete clock in need of some cosmetic restoration.
