A large Chinese export blue and white basin, Jiaqing period, painted to the interior with a river landscape scene with diaper and wave pattern borders, the exterior with floral sprigs, diameter 57cm, together with a circular mahogany stand, c.1820, with turned legs and brass castors, probably made for the American market

Some scratching to the glaze around the barbed rim and to the interior of the basin, otherwise in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration, the wood stand has numerous losses to the veneer on the exterior of the circular frame and wear to the X shaped stretcher consistent with the basin having sat on it, there is also a glue repair to the X stretcher, the stand is a tiny bit wobbly but generally structurally sound.
