A pair of large Coalport oviform pedestal vases and covers, signed by Percy Simpson, c.1910-14, painted with vignettes of ruins beside lakes, in gilt cartouches on an ivory panel set against a cobalt blue ground, leaf moulded scroll handles to the shoulder, green printed mark and inscribed in gilt V7648/A/5TH186, 36cm

One vase has losses to half of the inner rim which is concealed by the cover, both vases have remnants of blue tack around the inner rims and covers, crazing around the necks and fine crazing to the reserves, one cover has a small splinter chip to the inner sleeve, otherwise no cracks or restoration.
