Attributed to Thomas Rowlandson (1736-1827)
ink and watercolour,
Lambeth Walk,
5.25 x 8.75in.
Estimate £100-150

Looks a little flat so may well be laid down, watercolour on an off white paper, showing predominantly buffish tones now, the watercolour itself is also somewhat faded but retains fair strength in yellows and blues, fine scattered fox marks throughout the work, title inscribed lower left but no signature, overall the drawing of the figures and trees is good and of fluid style however the building to the right is clearly drawn with a ruler and does not appear to be the hand of Rowlandson hence our attribution. Housed in a washline mount and glazed gilt frame.
