A late Victorian silver and enamel cigarette case by Sampson Mordan & Co, of rounded rectangular form with later engraved inscription and enamelled lid decorated with a musician seated upon a large pottery barrel, signed with monogram "FC", London, 1891, 3.25in.

There appears to be a later? film of varnish over the surface of the enamel, as there is some minor flaking? in some areas mainly around the edges, perhaps some form of restoration?? There is a small ding to the front just above the panel and the case back has a later engraved inscription which reads "Sam From His Godchild Mary Dec 26th. 1929". Three of the top corners have small dents. Marks clear.
