Lot 490 , A good pair of Victorian silver dishes by John Samuel Hunt, each modelled and decorated as a leaf, 28 oz.
A good pair of Victorian silver dishes by John Samuel Hunt, each modelled and decorated as a leaf, on snail feet, stamped "Hunt & Roskell" and numbered "3345" on base, 8.75in, 28 oz.
Estimate £600-800
The gilded decoration now is quite slight, so some wear has occurred. There is a tiny split to the silver near the rim close to the stalk on one dish. There is an engraved armorial to the underside of each of the bases. Overall condition is otherwise good, with clear hallmarks.
