Lot 629 , George III and later octagonal brass bound mahogany cellaret(-)
A George III and later octagonal brass bound mahogany cellaret, on square section supports and castor feet, mounted with lion mask ring handles, W.1ft 6in.
Estimate £80-120
Overall this piece has been through the mill and back again hence the low estimate.
The top has later feather banding and the drop handle looks later. The lions mask handles are later and the brass banding has been re-fitted. the main body and legs have patches of wera and discolouration. The interior is a later wooden division.
A repolish would deal with most of the problems but this is not a piece for the purist.
