Lot 424 , A 19th century gilt brass carriage alarum clock, 5in., with travelling case

A 19th century gilt brass carriage alarum clock, 5in., with travelling case

A 19th century gilt brass carriage alarum clock, with enamel dials and movement striking on a bell, signed Paul Garnier and numbered 8585, 5in., with travelling case
Estimate £150-250

Leather case looking scuffed in places and has lost its strap, two cracks running at the bottom of the front where the glass sits, glass is a little chipped to the edges, door to conceal the glass still present but equally scuffed, possibly an original winding key in the case, clock itself with a dull matt finish, looks a little grubby and could do with repolishing, some polishing or typical wear to the handle, one fine crescent shaped scratch on the inside of the glass of the right hand side, dial looks to be original, some slight oxidisation marks to the gilding, enamel all looks as do the hands, top plate looks original, runs for a short while then stops, overall a fine quality piece that requires some re-finishing to the case and some attention to the movement.
