The portrait depicts Brill's wife Rosalie (nee Clarke), also an artist, who modelled in numerous of his works from around the time of their marriage in 1925 and into the 1930s

Watercolour on paper in good clean condition, looks like undulation of the paper so thought not to be laid down, one or two scattered dirt marks around the white margin, but no other faults noted. Signed and dated lower left, housed under glass in an ornate carved oak frame.
